Josh is a Registered Professional Land Surveyor and Attorney with more than 20 years of experience helping landowners, developers, attorneys, title companies, and real estate professionals navigate complex property issues throughout Texas. His practice focuses on land surveying, boundary analysis, and land development consulting throughout the Texas Hill Country.
Combining extensive surveying experience with a legal background, Josh provides clients with a unique perspective on property rights, land development, and the regulatory challenges that affect real estate projects. His understanding of both the physical and legal aspects of land allows him to identify issues, evaluate risk, and help clients move projects forward with confidence.
Josh has become a recognized voice within the surveying profession and has spent more than a decade presenting educational programs on surveying, boundary law, professional standards, and land development. He is a frequent speaker for the Texas Society of Professional Surveyors (TSPS), the Texas Land Title Association (TLTA), and the State Bar of Texas. He was recognized by the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) as a Subject Matter Expert in Boundary and previously served as an Adjunct Professor of Land Surveying at The University of Texas at Tyler's Soules College of Business.
A dedicated advocate for the profession, Josh is the 2024 President of the Texas Society of Professional Surveyors. Josh previously served as Chair of the TSPS Standards Committee, where he led efforts to modernize the TSPS Manual of Practice and advance professional standards statewide.
Josh earned a Certificate of Proficiency in Surveying and Mapping Technology from Tyler Junior College, a Bachelor of Science in Technology with an emphasis in Surveying and Mapping from The University of Texas at Tyler, and a Juris Doctor from Texas Tech University School of Law.
Raised on a ranch in Mason County, Josh developed an early appreciation for the land. He and his wife, Cara, live in Fredericksburg with their two children and remain actively involved in the local community.
